Dan Morgan is part of the M.I. High spy team from Series 6 - Series 7.

Biography[]

Dan Morgan (Saint Hearts student and M.I.9 spy, Series 6-7) is a master at martial arts, parkour, and is a field agent alongside Zoe and Aneisha. Dan is unofficially nicknamed "Mr. Practical" due to his skeptical view towards fantastical theories ("The Dark Wizard") and often has an "old-school" approach to his spy-work.

He is recruited by M.I.9 after being seen performing parkour when chasing after thieves who steal an old lady's handbag. Dan is a skilled young warrior, but doesn't always make the right choices. He always wants to help his friends, and does what he can to do so. He is very suspicious of people and careful with who he trusts. Throughout the seasons he appears in, he spends his missions on the field with Zoe or Keri and Aneisha.

Relationships[]

Zoe[]

Zoe is Dan's main love interest. Dan does not completely trust Zoe at first, wary of the idea that she is created by the enemies. Later on he warms up to her, having affection for Zoe that she reciprocates. In "The Face Of Revenge" he asks her out to Calvin Lame's concert. Once Dan leaves to get the tickets, Tom reveals that he never thought Dan would actually ask Zoe to go on a date. He is very protective of her and the two save each other numerous times risking their own lives.

In "The Final Endgame", when Zoe goes missing with Dr. Steinberg, Dan is angrily determined to get her back. When he goes to save Zoe he lets nothing get in his way as he hears her shouting his name. In "The Dark Wizard", Dan saves Zoe and rushes to her side, immediately pulling her into a long romantic hug, only to be interrupted by Byron who Dan tells to shut up. During "Mission: Incredible" they perform a scene from Romeo and Juliet (who Aneisha compares them to), Dan asking Zoe if she's nervous. She denies this, yet Dan seems to remain on edge. However, when Zoe leaves to find her sisters in series 7, it is said that she hasn't called him since she left. He's visibly upset at this and questions Tom on how he contacts her.

Keri Summers[]

As a fellow agent and "sister" to Zoe, Keri is a close friend to Dan. When Keri joins the team, Dan somewhat clashes personalities with her, often showing visible annoyance to her carefree behaviour. However, this changes as season 7 progresses, eventually admitting he sees her as one of the best spies. Even though Dan does not trust very easily, in "Frankenstein" he puts his trust in a relatively untrained Keri to lure a beastly Frank to the old KORPS lab. Keri, eager to make a point, does what she is told by Dan to earn his trust. In "The Mayze" Aneisha doesn't have her communicator, so Tom does not get told off when he's making fun of Dan, accusing him of fancying Keri. Aneisha and Keri eventually find this out when Dan loses his temper over the communicator, angrily denying that he likes her.

Keri is captured in "The Last Stand" where she swaps minds with the Mastermind. She gives her self up for the team to finally find where KORPS HQ is and stop their plan. Despite orders to wait for Frank, Stella and Aneisha to return to HQ, Dan immediately leaves to rescue Keri as soon as Tom gets her location. This turns out to be a reckless move, as upon the discovery of Tom's implanted homing beacon, Mike Stern orders a search for intruders. Dan is apprehended after the mind transfer, but still tries to reason with the Mastermind as he reveals KORP's plans. After a disguised Tom frees him, Dan is hesitant to hurt Keri, believing she is still somewhere in her mind. It's only after he's sure she isn't, that he manages to trick the Mastermind into electrocuting Keri's body. Throughout Keri's attempts to stop KORPs plans for by entering the Heart computer internally, Dan discourages her out of continued fear that she'll be hurt. When she's presumed dead after the Heart explodes, Dan admits he regrets putting her down, calling her one of the best spies ever.

Aneisha Jones[]

Dan spends the most time with Aneisha on the field compared to any of his other team mates. They have a close friendship constructed on trust, something Dan can have a hard time with when it comes to meeting new people. However, he trusts Aneisha's experience and instincts almost immediately, visibly impressed when Stella confronts her about being spotted with the U.S President and British Foreign Secretary in "The Fall of SKUL". Despite his hesitance and the risk of being embarassed in "The Problem Probe", he trusts that Aneisha is not lying about Mandy being an android and orders the 'Mandy-Droid's' arrest in front of the Prime Minister and several world leaders. He and Keri are arrested for the accusation, but he keeps his trust in Aneisha, later proving she is right by exposing the fake Mandy.

Dan does occasionally get on Aneisha's nerves however. In "The Hive", Dan joins in with his classmates' childish teasing of Aneisha for not having a film's wristband, not standing up for her when she is denied a place at their lunch table and not sharing his lunch food, "No band, no chip.". During their mission in the same episode, Dan and Zoe run ahead of Aneisha, small grievances like Dan not holding the door for her like he does for Zoe visibly annoying her. They leave Aneisha to investigate a floor of a KORPS lab alone without waiting for her input, and as a result of being blind-sighted by her annoyance, she trips off a security system that self-destructs and injures her. After the resulting 'Jubblyade' incident, Zoe takes a leaf out of Aneisha's book to be an individualist and Dan seems to find it funny. Disagreeing with Dan in jest, Aneisha compliments Zoe's 'individualist' outfit.

Tom Tupper[]

Tom and Dan have opposite roles within their team, Tom being the technical agent based in HQ with newer gadgets and computers; Dan being a combatant field agent more versed in 'old-school' spy skills. The two get along well as friends and team mates, Dan often quite reliant on Tom to hack security systems and guide the team through bases. However, he is also occasionally reliant on Tom in a more physical sense, Tom coming to the rescue in "The Last Stand", after Dan is captured by KORPS agents, by disguising himself as one. Tom makes fun of Dan's eagerness to 'play the hero' as he frees him, "Honestly, I leave you to do the whole hero thing and look what happens?", showing they're good friends able to make light in otherwise serious situations.

Their role clashes do cause somewhat of a personality clash however. Before Tom does come to Dan's rescue, Dan accuses Tom of being a coward after he voices concerns over disobeying orders. Tom is also often envious of Dan's status as both a highly decorated agent and a popular student. In "The Germinator", Dan wins a science competition with a model volcano against Tom's germ detecting glasses, something Tom does not take very well. Tom also fails to impress any girls, apart from Zoe, since they're fawning over his team mate. Motivated to prove that he is just as skilled as Dan, Tom saves the day and therefore Dan himself in several episodes like "Return of the Dark Wizard". Tom's envy of Dan does not get in the way of their friendship and proves he has great respect for his team mate.

Personality[]

Dan is a resourceful, confident, and combatant field agent determined to do the right thing, even if that sometimes means not following orders. For example, in "The Last Stand", he doesn't wait for backup to rescue Keri and goes for her alone. He is rather hot-tempered so his emotions can get the better of him on occasion, such as the case with rescuing Keri, which leads to his capture. His passionate outlook can also make him vulnerable to ignoring advice, such as in"Free Runner", when his passion for parkour makes him both prematurely trust the Guardian Runners and go after them alone when he discovers Lloyd is a criminal.

As a student, Dan is shown to be mischievous on occasion, throwing paper planes and almost doing a back-flip on campus. However, he is also generally polite, talking to a new caretaker who feels generally ignored in "Old School" and always talking to Mr Flatley in somewhat of a more gentle tone of voice. Despite his own passions in free running and older spy equipment, Dan doesn't understand vested interests in fantasy as shown in "The Dark Wizard" and gets easily annoyed when other people go on and on about it. This makes him very skeptical, immediately brushing off possibilities that a fantasy character could be a real villain.

He seems to have an old school approach on things and is ready to do what ever it takes to be with his friends, sympathizing with Jemima Thursday in "Old School" out of the promise he could remain with his team after the possibility of M.I High being shut down. However, because Dan is loyal to his friends, he often values their input, such as when they're concerned about trusting Jemima Thursday and their hesitance about seeing Frank as a criminal in "Trojan KORPS".

Dan does to tend to trust his established friends while being wary of new people, such as how he treats Zoe and Keri when they first meet. However, this can change when he meets people who share his interests, such as Jemima Thursday and the Guardian Runners. While he assumes they share his ideals at first, he learns he should have gotten to know them better before trusting them when they are villainous compared to his heroic ideals.
